The Lloyd's Non-Marine Under 30s is an open society which creates a community in the non-marine market, bringing together young brokers and underwriters in the different classes of business through networking, social, educational and charitable events.
Run by a Committee of 13 members consisting of underwriters and brokers from various different non-marine classes of business, 'the Lloyd's Under 30s' has had a presence in Lloyd's for over 20 years.
The Committee organizes regular events, both social and educational, which offer an opportunity for young underwriters and brokers to meet, network and exchange ideas in both an informal and formal environment. Events include seminars and Q&A sessions given by senior members of non-marine classes as well as networking events hosted by consultants, law firms, etc.
Perhaps most prominently, we are known for our bi-annual study tour of North America which takes 30 successful applicants on a tour of four cities in two weeks, alternating year-on-year from the West Coast to the Mid-West to the East Coast. The Tour Group will meet with clients, brokers, underwriters, law firms, loss adjusters and Lloyd's North American offices, all the time representing their individual companies and Lloyd's London Market as a whole. The Tour offers an invaluable opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the North American non-marine insurance market as well as allowing the group to forge strong relationships with market peers, both in London and in the USA.
In all that we do, The Lloyd's Under 30s has a charitable focus with proceeds from events going towards different chosen charities. Past charities have included Demelza, Royal Marsden and Help for Heroes.
